The Boise District’s Life of Pie is known for its amazing pies located on North Williams Avenue. Their thickly crusted pizzas with a crisp exterior and soft interiors are wood-fired and that is what’s unique. Our favorite part of every pie is the thick, melty mozzarella and the outdoor picnic benches.
You can build your own pizza here with your choice of marinara and house-made mozzarella, or simply order one that includes Mama Lil’s Peppers, salami, honey, and goat cheese. We totally recommend this one as it’s our favorite by the Life of Pie.

We found the pizza selection to be pretty good with 8-10 options, half of which were classics like Margheritas and pepperoni while the other half were more of a unique type that you might want to try if you’re fond of trying new flavors for your pizza.
You can build your own pizza here, as well as choose from seven specialty pies and three classics. In their wood-fired oven, all pizzas are cooked with beautiful thin, charred crusts. OTTO is no doubt one of the best pizza places in Portland, Maine. Perhaps even the best pizzas in the entire state of Maine are served here. According to locals, they are the best in the state. From their dough and sauce to delectable toppings, it has been a local staple since it opened in 2009.
You should check out their rotating specials as well. Lunch for around $9 includes two slices and a drink. It’s a flat crust, so the slices go fast, but it’s just so delicious.
Pricing is reasonable. For a large pie, it costs a little over $20, but it’s worth the money. While not the most affordable spot in town, it’s comparable to Portland Pie.
