Ajanta caves are located near the old city of Aurangabad in India. These are 32 caves carved out of volcanic rocks, some of which are from 2nd century AD. Artisans had only a chisel and a hammer painstakingly carved stone little by little, thus creating some of the best masterpieces of Buddhist art in India in this travel destination.
Ajanta caves were used by Buddhist monks as prayer halls and monasteries, some of the rooms and the beds are carved in stone on which the monks could rest. For this purpose, they used all nine centuries, then abruptly abandoned and forgotten until 1819 when they were rediscovered. Caves in this travel destination were created, although with very few tools are true master pieces and look really universal and magical.
