The Spotted Canadian Lake

The Canadian Spotted Lake is located near the town of Osoyoos in British Columbia, Canada. Lake in this travel destination contains a lot of minerals including calcium, sodium sulfate, magnesium, and also contains metals such as silver and titanium. In the summer time much of the water in the lake evaporates so that then formed over 365 swimming pools. Pools generally contains magnesium sulfate, which crystallizes in the summer and thus form natural “walkways” around and between the pools. Depending on the mineral composition of the pools can be white, pale yellow, green or blue.

During World War minerals from the lake were used for the production of ammunition.

Because minerals that contain lake is known for its therapeutic powers. This beautiful lake changes color depending on the season, but it’s best to visit between June and mid-December, because it is then formed these odd pools.

About 40 years ago, jezereo was originally owned by the family of Ernest Smith. When Smith tried to make spa 1979 natives tried to buy the lake to keep it its natural state. After 20 years of long negotiations in persuasion, they finally reached an agreement and 2001. bought 22 hectares of land for 720,000 dollars.
